I recently started rewatching Serial Experiments: Lain and realized that it's the perfect watch for a hot summer night: It's chill, eerie and matches the summer night vibe perfectly.

What's your favorite anime for hot summer nights and why?

Honestly, I might be interpreting many scenes that way, because I watched it during a hot dinner night for the first time, now that I think about it

Ah that makes sense. I do love when things get associated like that. That’s how traditions get started sometimes. Eg: watch this show every June lol.

I’m now 5 episodes in and I don’t know WHATS going on lol. Love the uniqueness of it though. The animation is different. The long quiet pauses are different. Super relaxing pace. But not a relaxing premise.

Haha, yeah! To be fair it does play in summer and she is spending a lot of time at night sitting in front of her computer in her nightgown. But I definitely I love the show for it's uniqueness. So many choices! The time it takes with some scenes. The episodes starting the same way gets me on each rewatch. Starting episode 2 I always check if I haven't accidentally started episode 1 again.
