What is a knowledge or skill which you thought you just couldn't understand, until eventually you did? (lemmy.ml)

Whether it was explained differently, or a foundational bit of knowledge made it click, how did you finally understand?

No politics โ€“ I'm thinking along the lines of math/programming, language, crafts, etc.

Two things programing and typing. Touch Typing was just one day after beating me head against the apple 2 then came in and boom it just clicked and I was 40pm.

With programing it clicks and unclicks every other day. One day I'm like i am a real programmer getting paid to do this then the next I'm the biggest fraud that can't even do a while loop correctly.

    Programming can even be broken down further. I remember when recursion clicked and suddenly a whole new world opened. Then I of course tried to use it for everything until In learned when it isn't the right tool for the job.

    Anyways, one of the few times I truly felt like a light bulb went on.
