I was at an event where we were told that some locally famous guy would tell us a story about when he discovered a murder scene.

When the event came around, it turned out that the guy wasn't going to show up, but what they had prepared was a voice recording of the story. Also, the story was 40 minutes long. 40 minutes at an event with everyone in silence - no chit chat during the story.

I mean, it was a good story, but it seemed like a lot of wasted time for an event where we could have gotten to know eachother better.
