You can get a module that disables it, bad news is it's like $100, but if you've decently good with electronics you can diy one cheaper.

    Absolutely no reason for a module on the majority of cars, especially older ones. Buy a cheap generic OBD2 adapter, pirate the coding software for your specific manufacturer, and disable it in the ECU
