I agree. But that makes me ask. Then why are they doing it. I figure initially it was probably bravado and such. Also a dose of some of trumps base would like it. But continuing is odd. What are they gaining by continuing that they couldn't have by quietly stopping. I just don't get it.

    I guess. I don't see how it justifies anything. They could just say how many boats they identified as drug carrying (without evidence of course) and not bother to blow them up. Would be easier to inflate the numbers even.

    But then the people on those boats can testify otherwise, and the department of war crimes would look "weak" for letting them through

  • They don't even have to have any real boats. They can just say "our military tracked X boats in the first quarter alone!!". No we can't show you the evidence because that would expose our sources and military capabilities... blah blah blah.
