If you're looking for a doco on porridge competitions The Golden Spurtle on Netflix is your show. 5/5 for entertainment.
*A golden spurtle is a spurtle that is golden that has its own suitcase. Not my words
**Porridge must be stirred clockwise or the devil might come out. Also not my words
adds to lengthy Netflix list
You gotta watch it now.
The clockwise bit is for the northern hemisphere. Like bathwater, it goes the other way south of the equator.
Are you havin' a lend of me lassie?
Nope. Saw it for myself on a trip to Zimbabwe. The tour guide bloke had a bucket of water with a hole in it - suspended a toothpick that rotated clockwise when north of the equator as the water ran out. We then walked 50 metres to south of the equator and repeated the bucket/toothpick bit. Spun anti-clockwise. Physics is wonderful but sensitive to location on the globe's surface. I am not responsible for the devil's presence/absence - physics is fundamental. I also stir sauces anti-clockwise against the advice in my great-grandmother's handwritten cookbook from approx 1880. The sauces taste just fine. Bite me.
EDIT: I think it's called the Coriolis Effect. Presumably works on devils too.
Not even joking but that is right up my alley. I will watch either tonight or this weekend and report back
Oh please. I promise it's a pearler.
