Ask Lemmy
A Fediverse community for open-ended, thought provoking questions
Rules: (interactive)
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, toxicity and dog-whistling are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
6) No US Politics.
Please don't post about current US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world or !askusa@discuss.online
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.

the actual essence of the community and the thoughts and ideas are reflected not in your posts but in your ideologies
Let’s see you bring this energy to any of the multiple shitposting communities that are majority male.
Let women have our spaces. It’s the only community that’s ours. Women are allowed to be upset about how men at large treat us, how they rape and beat us, how men laugh at our genitals, our hobbies, our passions.
We’re allowed to talk about our lives.
theres no mensstuff community, but I do call out sexist content when I see it, be it misogynistic or misandrist.
Frankly, this reads in the same way as All Lives Matter arguments. The default for most online spaces is male. You went and found one of the only comms where that isn't the case and got offended that it didn't cater to you, then cherry picked a few shitposts/joke posts to support your misogynism.
Also, there actually are communities for "men's stuff" like dullmensclub.
That’s because the men’s stuff community is all of the other parts of the fediverse.
women are allowed. and I doubt its mostly men either.
Lemmy is absolutely majority male.

Very impressive that you can divine the essence of a community, not reflected in posts, just by reading a bunch of posts and making assumptions about them. That's a neat trick.
Don’t you see that a gathering of women without male escorts is expressly forbidden on Lemmy?
We can’t be trusted on our own apparently.
the posts, replies, etc
the reasoning, circular, etc.
