The problem is, the split is largely rural vs. urban, which is scattered all over the country.

If only, that would solve a lot. Got the Eastern corridor, the upper midwest, the southeast Deep South Southwest and west.

Unfortunately leaving the union is not an option I seem to recall something about a group trying to do that at one point and they were prevented from doing so.
