You’ll note that the common cold, norovirus, and influenza aren’t listed. Don’t ask for antibiotics.

People often confuse viral infections as bacterial infection... instead one would require anti-viral. I'm sure it's just people not knowing what 'biotic' is referencing.

I don’t think it’s that deep. “I feel ill. Give me pill” and the doctor give something that cures syphilis, so it must be good.

Yeah also generic anti-virals don't exist like they do as antibiotics. There's no cure for the common cold.
