They did have blowback, in Xinjiang. Lots of terrorism and death, ironically the terrorism was sponsored by their former "allies" in the USA. The ETIM terrorists are still out in Syria and have vowed to return and inspire fundamentalist religous counter revolution.

    Yeah I was gonna say the whole situation in Xinjiang is also the fault of the CIA flooding the region with Salafist propaganda because reactionary agitprop does not respect boarders.
