I like posts like this because I assume they distill whatever the community is about down to something that makes it really easy to just be like oh yeah fuck that and block the whole thing. How can anyone legitimately enjoy reading this, honestly?

    Edit: upon second thought, maybe this is a person that's been hurt so bad that they've just built up all this bitterness inside... sad, when you think of it that way.

    I choose to pity them. Cuz if it's not what I said above then they'll just get mad at the pity >:D

    I'm not sure I'd classify this one as hate though. It's just someone who desperately needs to have others know and validate their opinion, no matter how insignificant it is.

    I'm not really sure there's much value in debating whether " How can anyone legitimately enjoy reading this, honestly?" counts as hate-mail - but telling a creator that their work sucks and everyone hates it is a shitty thing to do regardless. It definitely gets received as hate-mail.

    Although having said that, the majority of this guy's posts on lemmy seem to be showing up in random communities and saying he thinks they're pointless or crap.

    Fair, but if I would count every criticism as hate I'd drown in hate. It's worth- and pointless criticism, but is it hate? Block them, ignore them, let them live their shitty lives. Are downvotes hate? No, someone just tells me they don't share my opinion.

    Edit: look, in not saying their opinion is good and valid and should be heard. They can eat a bag of rocks on a Friday. But giving them too much thought and emotional response just isn't the best for your own mental well-being, so just let them swallow their own negativity and ignore them.

    I wouldn't count running into a community full of people having fun, and telling them they all suck and are stupid for having fun counts as... "criticism"

    Is it an opinion? yes. Is it "criticism"? no. It's just negativity for negativity's sake.

    How utterly devoid of humor or character must you be to spend your time going around the internet making posts like this? What does this kind of post contribute to anything? If you don't like someone's creative work, you can just ignore it.
