Fuck. I need to buy a record player.

It's never too late!! Just stay away from the cheap suitcase players :)

Thanks. If you didn't say that, that's what I would have bought. I don't have a lot of room. Maybe when the kids are older.

Yeah because many do, that's why my warning. Have a look, this short video explains it pretty well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXV8tXrPOR4

You can still get smaller players for cheap that are not those suitcase players. AT-LP60 for example, even if I would say those aren't good either but at least they won't shred the records.

How do you feel about the AT-SB727, the Sound Burger?

It seems decent but I don't like that wobbly records dont have any stabilisation there, it's small at least. Techmoan actually reviewed this one he liked it.

I would strongly advise against playing vinyls with Bluetooth speakers, as this defeats their purpose as a HiFi medium.

You won't really hear a difference to heavily compressed Spotify media.

If you really want to enjoy the quality of vinyls, invest at least in an entry-level turntable for 150€/$ and an entry-level HiFi stereo system with a Class AB amplifier and 50-100 watt, 4-ohm speakers for 300€/$ upwards. Theoretically there are barely any limits, but above 1000€/$ the return is pretty much diminishing.

My preference is wired headphones, what do you recommend?

Beyer Dynamics DT770, DT880, DT990 or the Pro versions are very nice quality. They have very native sound profiles, meaning you will experience the media as they were intended by the producer. They don't have boosted base, however, you won't need that HipHop shit feature for Black Metal anyways ;)

I'll have to take a look at those.
