Yeah, the community is not as left-wing as Hexbear, no shti, it's le Reddit dot com.
I find scraping a left-wing community for takes with single digit upvotes, and posting them for sneering and criticism from a distance to be somewhat distasteful. There is obviously no interest in using this as an educational opportunity (which that subreddit is prime for, among others) since there are no links are in the post.
I particularly find this post out of place on Hexbear which is descended from very similar community where many of us would have posted similar takes 6+ years ago before we developed our analysis further.
Every time I'm reading one of these posts I remind myself there's a very good chance a child made the silly comment, then I move on.
You're right, the sneering is reactionary. Thank you for helping me self-crit, comrade.
If it is fashy or committed support to the establishment that's one thing, if there is motion toward our direction we should be getting in there and telling them what's what is all I'm saying, even if we roll our eyes on the way in.
