Prohibition forced itself on a population that already drank. The new UK laws phase out sucessive generations before they start smoking - generations that already know the dangers and have exceedingly low uptake to begin with
You can still smoke. Your grandkids won't
That is the intent of the law. I more of a "we already have laws for hard drugs but ppl will still get them" person. If anything it at least just removes second hand smoke in public places. Which also worries me fires and other crime aspects may increase from concealment.
I was curious and found this graphic showing age of smokers. Its already going down. So maybe its not even sure its worth the trouble. Since the problem will sort itself in a few decades. Though second graphic with vaping certainly proves this needs to resolves ASAP. So im glad they added it to bill. Nip that in bud before it gets more popular.
