Mustang GTD Competition sets lap time of (6:40.835) becaming second fastest production car ever behind only the Mercedes-AMG ONE hypercar (6:29.090). And beating the Corvette ZR1X (6:49.275) with a GM engineer behind the wheel vs the GTDs pro driver.

Seems more in line with the Ford GT but Ford probably wanted to make it seem like more of an "obtainable" working man's car like GM has done with the Corvette despite both costing more than a house at this point.

Something like this will probably drive a shit ton of OEM parts sales from regular Mustang owners trying to copy it.

Well that's what I was talking about, the parts that make the GTD so special can't just be bolted onto a normal Mustang. The transmission was moved to the rear, allowing them to move the engine back behind the front axle, connecting the two via a torque tube, no trunk space cause Ford filled it with a radiator for said trans and an inboard suspension system.

There are a few other things that probably could be added to a normal Mustang but, it'd be more cosplay at that point lol
