There's even a history of left wing activism in the church here in the US. Nuns and priests used to break in to draft offices to burn registration cards. Jessica Rezniceck is a Catholic worker. And Oskar Schindler is listed as Righteous Among the Nations. The record of the Catholic church is still one of largely genocide and oppression. Those Catholics are still choosing to associate themselves with a deeply evil, regressive organisation.
