I can understand not representing the USA but to choose China next? Whats after that? Russia? Saudi Arabia?

    Her mother was Chinese, so it's not like it came out of nowhere. And it may well be safer for her in China than to be a person of color in the United States these days.

    "Safer than in the USA" is an incredibly low bar, but it's interesting her family was allowed to return to China after leaving.

    Do they want to conquer the world? They want back territory that was part of China in the past and they have broad ideas about "protecting" themselves, but I've never heard that they're expansionist.

    While I'm not convinced they're going to try to conquer the world per se, the entirety of the belt and road initiative is about spreading their influence and putting countries in their debt.
