We already see the ‘sorry, I didn’t do this personally, the ‘good natured’ jokes about it because what else can you do at a time like this, how they ‘stand on the side of…’, the philosophical quotes whenever something happens.

Can’t vote or protest though, nope, they might lose a job, or it’s their right not to, or it doesn’t make a difference.

They’ll look on. Furthermore once it’s all done they’ll expect we quickly forget and forgive.
