I prefer to get physical books when I can, but I have so many gaming PDFs that I've gotten as bonuses from Kickstarters, humble bundles, etc I feel I might as well read them. It's just the experience of reading them has never been ideal for me. They're often too big and annoying to read on my phone, so there's a lot of zooming in and scrolling. I could use a full laptop, but then they're harder to hold while cuddling on the couch under a blanket or while in bed, like I would a book.

Is there any particular device people prefer for this? I'm guessing a large screened tablet but not too expensive, doesn't need too many bells and whistles since it's for a fairly simple purpose, but should be quick and responsive when loading full color pdfs or turning their pages.

I will second what the other commenter said about ereaders. I'm a huge evangelizer of my ereader with eink, but it would be terrible for this. A full iPad is probably not needed. If you're using it just for this, a basic android handheld tablet should be more than enough. You can get them for less than $100 which is crazy. You could probably get a pretty good one second hand. Someone I know uses a tablet phone which is less than 8 inches, and it's a little small for my taste, so I'd recommend 10 inches as a minimum, but it's probably worth seeing some examples in store to find what works for you. If you'd find any hidden gems, I'm sure we'd all love to hear about them. Have fun going through the backlog!

Good to know e-ink readers are not the way to go. Maybe I'll check ebay for old tablets then.

Recruitment posts should contain what system is being played, CW for any adult/serious themes players need to be aware of and whether a game is beginner friendly.

An obvious reminder of no racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia and transphobia.

Emphasis on small independent rpgs like the ones in the TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Texas but not against dnd stuff.
