I'm playing around with the parameters, and it looks even worse if you go by daily: https://gs.statcounter.com/windows-version-market-share/desktop/worldwide/#daily-20250918-20251018 Going by daily counts, there's actually more Windows 7 than Windows 10. It paints a picture of people hating Windows 11 and merely tolerating Windows 10 until it's EOL. Digging the data even more, apparently the major boost in Windows 7 adoption comes from Asia: https://gs.statcounter.com/windows-version-market-share/desktop/asia#daily-20250918-20251018 But the intriguing part of it is if you try to search by individual Asian countries, most of them actually have insignificant Windows 7 adoption.
