FINALLY! Hell yeah, I'm so glad to hear PSL will start running local candidates! They just gained another big fan. Seem like the best party in the US.

    I’m a fan of these candidates, but I feel like local would’ve been mayor of some city in CA, like Oakland, SF, or LA. Tho maybe state level is the right size idk

    It's a good question, I think their media reach just hasn't been as strong until recently and the campaigns never went anywhere. They run under Peace and Freedom Party. I've been pretty critical of these campaigns over the years because of how much energy and resources they must take and how PSL was choosing to do that instead of organize in other ways, but I'm not a member.

    Maybe they only bother promoting the Presidential campaign? Seems like it should go the other way because I've heard of their Presidential campaigns, not local campaigns. Then again, I'm not in their area.

    But I've been asking on here if PSL runs any local candidates and I've always been told 'No, that isn't their strategy.' Now my one major complaint against them is resolved and they apparently did this the entire time, which is really annoying but good for them I guess.

    There are lists some of the campaigns on here, the party goes back to Huey Newton running in 1968 but I'm not sure when PSL got involved and which year they became the dominant voice in the party.

    La Rivas first congressional campaign is listed there as 2010, her first CA governor campaign was 1994.

    It doesn't seem like the most local campaigns are here though, I can't find a list of campaigns beyond presidency, governor, congress

    There has been a very small number of local campaigns. Lalo, the insurance commissioner candidate here, ran for LA city council two years ago. There's a city councilor in the Finger Lakes area. The party's going to be doing more electoral campaigns going forward since it's grown so much and has the resources to do so more meaningfully.

    Time to poach some of that Mamdani tallent to run their media operation for local elections. I've had the same thoughts and was informed of the same thing, but now I'm told they've been running them the whole time? I'd never know if they were running in my area, I guess.
