Although getting funding from BRICS or AES is a neat concept, are you aware of how feasible it is to actually acquire funding?

There is a strong push to fund an alternative anti hegemonic voice from the BRICs media forum. That leads me to speculate positively regarding the feasibility of African Steam getting funded. However, similar as getting a well paid job in a good place in the Global South, they need to join the forums, use their contacts and/or reach out to any of the news networks that are in the forum.

This was BRICS's latest media forum in Brazil comments and the level of organizations participating:

• RIO DE JANEIRO, July 17 (Xinhua) -- The BRICS Media and Think Tank Forum, convened this week in Rio de Janeiro, brought together voices from across the Global South to jointly reshape the narrative system and enhance the representation of developing countries in international affairs.

• The event served as a pivotal gathering for over 250 delegates from media outlets, think tanks, government institutions, and enterprises representing 36 countries, including BRICS member states, partner nations and regional organizations.

As for the AES, this is tricker because most of the initiatives are very local such as this one:

• "By making this commitment, our press is demonstrating to national and international opinion its availability and commitment alongside the highest authorities in the face of the major challenges facing our country. It also demonstrates its desire to remain professional, to contribute to providing sound information to the population, and to actively participate in the development of Burkina Faso," said Louis Modeste Ouédraogo, president of the CSC, before adding that beyond the signatories, this pact concerns all professional Burkinabe journalists.

Would BRICS be willing to work with them?

Honestly, we will never know unless they give this a shot. From my side, I really hope that BRICs do. I have seen Xinhua contact famous mexican pro brics youtuber and even showing them up in their channels. I am 90% sure that the mexican youtuber that I am referencing contacted them through forums as well and he was successful to the point that Xinhua help him with materials and stuff.
