MODERATORS
The project is being funded by a 72-month, one-cent sales tax that will start when the MAPS 4 tax ends, with an additional $70 million in MAPS 4 funding and $50 million from the Thunder ownership group.
Great use of City funds ( ˘︹˘ )
We all voted on it, and it passed.
Keeps the team here for a long time unlike some other cities where this team might have lived in the past...
Should the owners pay more? Definitely. But still. It's basically an extension of the MAPS 4 1 cent sales tax OKC has had for years, so the "hit" to the populace really isn't anything since we already have that tax.
The team was going to move to OKC no matter what. The move had nothing to do with getting a new arena or not.
My opinion is that money would be better spent going to fund schools considering Oklahoma is ranked 49th out of all 50 states. But this looks cool to I guess lol.
