It's not dead: it's gone from latent fascism to acute fascism. It's very sick, and it will die, but not without hurting the whole world in its noisy death throes.
the rest of the world would be hurting even if it wasn't dying. but the US knocking itself off the top of the world order is gonna be better for the rest of the world in the long run.
