That would be the main hope, that once Trump's "charisma" is taken out of the picture, MAGA might start to lose enthusiasm. But it would take some time for the MAGA momentum to wind down, and the authoritarians-in-waiting would be keen to consolidate power quickly and insulate themselves against the opinions of the masses. So then the next hope is that they all start fighting among themselves so hard that the damage any of them can do is limited.
