This was in a Costco magazine. The family used ""savings"" to start this business and then later got a military contract with the US. I wonder where that savings came from? Perhaps more family lore?
Heinz was born in '97, Hans would be born in '26 to be 19 in '45, which would mean Heinz was 29 when Hans was born - just the right age to be his father.
I could be wrong, but the timeline works out.
