Ford says the Level 2 “hands-off, eyes-on” advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) is now also the most widely available system of its kind in Europe.

I don't know the capabilities of this system, but most systems can already do this. It is essentially adaptive cruise control and lane assist, but the driver still needs to pay attention. The problem ist that many people will slack off and not pay attention. I like the traffic jam assist of Mercedes much more. It is Level 3 and the driver does not need to pay attention under 60 kph.

Level 3 from Mercedes is more expensive though.

Other level 2 systems do not allow you to take your hands off and will probably annoy you with some kind of warnings. Wasn’t it Tesla where you could squeeze an orange into the wheel to trick the system?

Anyways, I agree with you that this isn’t worth the price.
