Triton Submersibles is actually one of those companies that knows what they're doing. Their big project was the DSV Limiting Factor, which is a legitimate deep sea research vessel, so unless they're using another shed build submarine they'll probably survive

But it might mean that more startup brained billionaires get lulled into a false sense of security and build more OceanGate style tubs

I've been saying we should all act like this is the coolest thing ever because musk will absolutely try to copy it but lead the design himself leading to an actual ocean gate 2.0.
