The Weekly General Discussion Thread is for the r/Piracy community to discuss whatever is on their mind, whether it is related to digital piracy or not.

🪶 ➜ Follow the Rules

  • Rules are still applicable, so please do not request specific pirated content (ie. specific movie, book, etc.) and definitely don't link to any. Do not mention specific media names asking for help in finding them.

📜 ➜ Wiki + Megathread

  • Don't forget to browse the Wiki, which contains a Megathread with a list of sites/apps, tools, FAQ, and other useful resources.
  • Your question also may have been asked previously - you can search the subreddit via the search bar or even google - example:

For previous weekly threads, click here.

I just want to thank the people who have been so patient and helpful with me these last few weeks. I've probably been a huge pain in the ass lol and I just appreciate the positivity and willingness to help a literal noob. Thank you all!

I have been hearing about this for a year or so now and now just saw this post onthis subreddit and how people who were on Chrome were considering moving to Firefox. Now what i wanted to ask was is that the extensions like Ublock origin and many more, are they going to stop working for JUST CHROME or ALL CHROMIUM browsers? I have been using Brave browser for 5-6 years now and I really was hoping that this affects ONLY GOOGLE CHROME and not CHROMIUM BROWSERS AS A WHOLE. Will all the extensions continue to work on MOZILLA? I hope someone can help me with this in the comments. Thanks alot.

Does anyone have a good alternative? The ting I cared about most was the identifiers stating whether the vid was of quality or cam. I've been looking but many sites that have it don't actually state it properly. Like saying that inside out of despicable me is hd when they are clearly hd/ts. I know that the thread mentions many and I have looked at most of them already.

Streaming piracy sites, not Netflix.

I was blown away by movie-web, and somehow more impressed by sudo-flix. No popups, no click traps, just working sites that I could use from Edge on my Xbox. Loading up movie night has never been easier.

Enter vidbinge, one of the worst streaming sites I've ever used in terms of popups and overlays and modals.

It just got me thinking, who is it that actually ruins these sites after going through the trouble to make them? Is it the devs who made it? Are third parties hacking it in some type of man-in-the-middle attack? Is it open source with no control over pull requests?
