Suzanne Shepherd, the actress who mothered iconic mob wives in Goodfellas and The Sopranos, has died. She was 89.

Jordan made his directorial debut with “Creed 3,” in which he also starred as heavyweight champ Adonis Creed from the “Rocky” spinoff film series. The third installment, which premiered in theaters in March of this year, clobbered the box office with its $58 million debut weekend, a record-setting sum for the boxing franchise.

I started watching the Netflix original "Scott Pilgrim Takes Off". I already had high expectations for it, but they were far exceeded. The animation is truly amazing, think if Spider-Verse was 2D. Not to mention the characters, writing, and music. I'm only partway through the third episode, but I'm already waiting for a second season to be announced.

It already has a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. And with SPTO being such a good show, I'm starting to see why some people aren't too fond of movies these days. Almost every major film released in November has recieved mediocre-at-best reviews. A question studios will have to answer is, why should audiences spend time and money going to the theater to see an average film when they can get better entertainment at home for no additional cost?

That being said, I'd love to see Scott Pilgrim's animation style on the big screen.

Christopher Nolan took a playful swipe at streaming while introducing a Los Angeles screening of “Oppenheimer” that was devoted to spotlighting the film’s craft. Crew members reunited for the event Monday evening, billed as “The Story of Our Time: The Making of ‘Oppenheimer.'” The director said a lot of time and energy has gone into assembling the “Oppenheimer” Blu-ray so that it preserves the film’s soundscape, which is one reason moviegoers should buy a physical copy as opposed to waiting for the movie to stream.

“Obviously ‘Oppenheimer’ has been quite a ride for us and now it is time for me to release a home version of the film. I’ve been working very hard on it for months,” Nolan said. “I’m known for my love of theatrical and put my whole life into that, but, the truth is, the way the film goes out at home is equally important.”

“‘The Dark Knight’ was one of the first films where we formatted it specially for Blu-ray release because it was a new form at the time,” he continued. “And in the case of ‘Oppenheimer,’ we put a lot of care and attention into the Blu-ray version… and trying to translate the photography and the sound, putting that into the digital realm with a version you can buy and own at home and put on a shelf so no evil streaming service can come steal it from you.”

Reddit has a sort of love/hate relationship with Oak Island. Going into 11 seasons of interesting archaelogical evidence but no real treasure frustrates a lot of people.

I'm curious as to how Lemmy feels about all of it!

For those unfamiliar with the story...

"There is an island, in the North Atlantic..."

In 1795, three young men were attracted by strange lights to the elephant-shaped "Oak Island" off the coast of Nova Scotia.

They found an old block and tackle hanging from a tree branch over a depression in the ground, and, eyes full of dollar signs, began digging for treasure in what is commonly called "The Money Pit".

As they dug down, they would find a floor made from oak logs sealed with clay every 10 feet.

90 feet down, they found a 2 foot wide flat stone with strange inscriptions on it.

Eventually the tunnel flooded with water and the excavation stopped.

What has happened since is 200 years of digging, tunnelling and excavations, all hoping for a massive payday.

Nothing substantive has been found, but lots of ephemera interesting for archaeology has been.

And that's where we are today... two brothers who read the story of Oak Island back in the 1960s have been trying for 10+ seasons of television to get to the bottom of Oak Island.

This looks so wholesome. Reminds me of an older cartoon series I grew up with called Hamtaro.
