Abracadabra was a children's tv show on Swedish state television between 1997 and 2001, it followed Doris the cow and Gösta the badger on random adventures.

Ahlgrens Bilar is a marshmallow type sweet, shaped as classic cars with a mild fruit flavor, there are made in three colors, white, pink and green, they are hugely popular across all ages in Sweden.

This picture shows Doris visiting the factory where Ahlgrens Bilar was made.

This photo was taken by a staff member at the factory, and was later donated to the regional museum, sadly the name of the specific photographer has been lost to time.

It is licensed as CC-BY-SA.

I remember seeing this program on TV, it was aimed at younger kids than me.

https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bas%C3%ADlica_de_Santa_Francesca_Romana,_Roma,_Italia,_2022-09-15,_DD_51-53_HDR.jpg

Description:

Basilica of Santa Francesca, Rome, Italy. A church at the site was known by the tenth century. It was named Santa Maria Nova ("New St Mary"), to distinguish it from the other church inside the Roman forum devoted to St Mary, Santa Maria Antiqua ("Ancient St Mary"), which had fallen into ruin by then. The relics from the ancient church were moved to this church under Pope Leo. Santa Maria Nuova was enlarged in the second half of the tenth century, and then rebuilt by Pope Honorius III in the thirteenth century, adding the campanile and the apse, as well as being decorated with a mosaic Maestà, a depiction of the Madonna enthroned accompanied by saints (as seen in the picture). Since 1352 the church has been in the care of the Olivetans. In the 16th century, the church was rededicated to Frances of Rome (Francesca Buzzi), who was canonized in 1608 and whose relics are in the crypt. The interior of the church has undergone many refurbishments.

I am back!

I remember there was a few requests about more control rooms when I started posting here last time, so I thought I might honor the request even if it doesn't show much of the room part...

Anyway, this is the fully automated control panel for the rail yard at Uppsala Centralstation in Uppsala, this photo was taken on 1938/05/11 and published in the local paper, Uppsala Nya Tidning, the day after.

This machine controls the switches and signals of the rail yard at the station, a similar model can be found operational and in use at the local heritage railroad.

Sadly I don't know what the indicators mean, or how to operate it, I just think it is cool!

This photo was taken by Paul Sandberg, and is in the public domain.

Description:

A previously unpublished illustration intended for the Saturday Evening Post's 1943 New Year's edition. It was never used due to publisher demands that the illustrator, J.C. Leyendecker, create a more optimistic and patriotic cover that was sensitive to the families of American soldiers. It was publicly shown for the first time in 2020 as part of an auction.

Description:

Royal angelfish (Pygoplites diacanthus), Ras Muhammad National Park, Red Sea, Egypt. The body of the royal angelfish is moderately elongate, is very compressed and can reach a length of up to 25 centimetres (9.8 in) It's widely distributed throughout the Indo-Pacific and can be found in the Red Sea and Indian Ocean around East Africa and the Maldives, stretching to the Tuamoto Islands, New Caledonia, and Great Barrier Reef. The royal angelfish occurs at depths ranging from 0 to 80m (0 to 262 ft), in coral rich areas of lagoons, reefs, and are also often found in the vicinity of caves. It is a carnivorous species that feeds on sponges and tunicates located throughout reefs and underwater caves. They are a non-migratory species that can be found solitary, in pairs, or groups. Probably the most spectacular fish I've ever seen underwater in terms of colors. we have no FPs of the whole family Pomacanthidae (marine angelfishes).

This is a 16 color palette reduced image using my own custom palette generator algorithm. The palette it detected and in use is in the top right.

Based on this post right here...

The subject matter of said images isn't important, I just want to perform some image processing techniques later and possibly even share them.

Edit: I'll await any particular suggestions for another day or so, but I see a number of wonderful possible candidate pictures here to dabble with.

I'll check back tomorrow. My goal is to experiment with my old 16 color palette reduction code, custom palette for each image.

Description:

Common cuttlefish (Sepia officinalis), Arrábida National Park, Portugal. The common cuttlefish is one of the largest and best-known cuttlefish species. They are a migratory species that spend the summer and spring inshore for spawning and then move to depths of 100 to 200m during autumn and winter. They only have a lifespan of 1–2 years and have many predators including sharks, dolphins, seals, fish, and cephalopods which includes other cuttlefish. During the day, most cuttlefish can be found buried below the substrate and fairly inactive. At night however, they are actively searching for prey and can ambush them from under the substrate. Cuttlefish are carnivorous and eat a variety of organisms including crustaceans (crabs and shrimp), small fish, molluscs (clams and snails), and sometimes other cuttlefish.
