I am seeing a huge increase in posts and comments that incite violence, make threats of violence against specific people, or that celebrate real-world instances of violence and murder. There are hundreds of comments on this instance posted over the past day that brazenly violate rule #1 "We do not tolerate threats of and calls for violence in any form against any living creature".

Many offending comments have been dealt with by mods, but some mods are seemingly allowing this violent rhetoric in their respective sub-communities. There are many active threads about the UHC CEO right now on lemmy.world that are filled with violent rule-breaking comments, and very little visible moderation.

Given that the mods are either unable or unwilling to enforce this most fundamental content rule, when can we expect the admins to get involved and start handing out bans to the users that have been celebrating murder and inciting more violence? It's pretty out of control right now, and I'm betting that the admins could find themselves in hot water with the authorities if this continues to go unchecked.

This is the voter Kamala was supposed to sway with “better messaging”.

The part about them being too closely related to Humans sounds like BS, but there is a mushroom that is perfectly safe the first few times you eat it, and then eventually makes your immune system attack your blood cells.

The actual answer is that the seatbelt is there to keep your ragdoll ass from bouncing off the ceiling during heavy turbulence.

This isn't surprising, it's inevitable.

If you folks knew how common pedophilic fantasies are amongst the general public, you would be shocked. Just look to cultures like Japan and Russia that don't strongly condemn such things, and you'll find it's about 15% of the population. It's only less in the West because of the near homicidal stigma attached to it that makes people vigorously hide that part of themselves.

Fortunately, this also shows that the vast majority of those people don't offend.

We also tend to define pedophilia as "anything sexual involving a minor", while reacting to it as if it means "violent rape of a toddler", so no shit, we sexualize youth all the time, the 18 year mark is a legal and social formality, not a hard limit on human attraction. Adults will find themselves attracted to teens, and they won't reveal that because who the fuck ever would?

If anything, the issue isn't that people have these attractions and fantasies, it is that some portion of those people can't separate fantasy from reality and are willing to hurt a child to get what they want, or they are sociopaths that consume child porn without feeling disgust for witnessing horrific child abuse.

The original Loss comic is about a miscarriage. The husband goes to the hospital, is directed to his wife's room, and he has to cope with the loss of the pregnancy with his wife. The reason this 4-panel comic became a meme is largely because this was a departure from the previous tone of the webcomic it came from, and was used as a "fridging" trope, so people tend to make fun of it (but I digress).

In a red state, the hospital would refuse treatment for a miscarriage out of fear of being criminally charged with performing an abortion for helping terminate a non-viable pregnancy. They would turn the patient away, and only intervene with the patient is bleeding out and dying, but by that point it's usually too late.

What is depicted in this comic is a real-world example of what happens to women in red states who suffer miscarriages. They are denied medical treatment, and have literally bled out and died in their cars in the parking lot because nobody would help them.

1 in 5 pregnancies ends in a miscarriage. A lot of women have died completely unnecessary deaths in red states since Roe v. Wade was struck down.

Some Republican is suddenly going to be against self defense. Just you watch.

“My father is running out of lives here,” son Eric Trump told Fox News’ Sean Hannity. “How many more rifles are going to come within assassination distance of my father?”

THEY'RE BLAMING THE GUNS! 😂

The current Republican platform is largely based on stupid easily disproven lies. I'm convinced our fall to fascism is caused by stupidity as much as it is hatred.

"Doctors are cutting little boys dicks off because they like the color pink!"

"They're performing abortions after birth!"

"Haitians are eating all the cats and dogs!"

"They're putting litter boxes in the school bathrooms!"

There's really only two kinds of Republican: The evil ones who spread these lies intentionally, and the stupid ones who believe this dumb shit.

Hey Microsoft: Windows is yours, GRUB is mine. I don't give a shit if GRUB is vulnerable, I'll fix that myself if I choose to.

Mind your own fucking business. The most you should ever do is let me know about it, not try to patch things you aren't responsible for...

Look, if I catch you looking my way, I might even get the hint that you find me attractive, but I really need more context than that. I'm not going to proposition every woman that makes eye contact with me. The risk of misinterpreting something and coming across as a creep is way too high.

You can sue people for choosing not to do business with you?

Musk is such a fucking baby. He has no basis for this. He made major changes to the site, including a complete rebrand, and advertisers left. That's the fucking free market, and he's gonna sue?

Look, fuck Alex Jones, but the title of the Twitter Space was "Will the Deep State Assassinate Biden If He Refuses To Leave?"

Which is some crazy conspiratorial nonsense, but it is pretty far from a call to assassinate Biden. It does technically have the words "assassinate Biden" in it, so the headline is correct on a literal level, but this is some serious click bait...

You could just as easily say "Rawstory posts article with 'Assassinate Biden' in the title", and be just as correct.
