I live in austria an we also have washing machines with internal heating and you usually connect them to the cold water tap, but usually you can also just connect them to the hot water tap if you have cheap or free hot water - there are thermostat sensors inside the machine and if the water is already hot it will not heat it any more.
every single washing mashine I ever owned has internal heating - maybe that's different in the US, don't know about that, but here in europe that's completly normal.
This is a screenshot from EV Maps:

that's a completly rural area here in Austria and still there are charger everywhere - and I have to go shopping at least once a week anyway and the time I spend in the shop is enough to get the charge I need, there is no time lost there. In fact I would lose more time if I had to go to the gas station ...
At the end of the cycle it always rinses with cold water, so it's completly normal that the clothes are cold
we are talking about Europe here and not the US - the charging infrastructure in basically all of europe is fantastic by now, basically every supermarket parking lot has a fast charger by now ...
Honestly what I don't understand is: why are 60% still not fully electric? Given the current situation I would expect that number to be much higher.
FAFO I guess 🤷♂️
the original poster of the bsky post laid out his sources in comments under his post - sadly the post was deleted and I took no screenshots of the comments. But you are completly right, there is no way to validate the authenticity of the data anymore now.
