Most of the lines that change in Fluxer's repository are translations. From August 22 to September 28, 2026, git counted 1.10 million lines added and about 980,000 deleted, a net gain of about 121,000. Translation files were 53.5% of the changed lines, tests were 12.3% and application code was 22.8%.
Fluxer is available in 34 languages and regional variants, and each sentence in the app takes about five lines in every one of their translation files. One new sentence adds about 170 lines, and rewording one can make git count all 170 as deleted and added again. The app's 8,000 or so sentences come to more than 1.3 million lines of translations. New sentences start as machine-translated drafts, and people review and improve them on Fluxer's translation site.
Some of the biggest commits are months of work shipped at once. Spam waves, attackers posting child sexual abuse material, DDoS attacks and rushes of new people after news about Discord kept pulling Hampus onto the most urgent problem. Each time, the work waiting to ship went out of date and had to be updated again, like Sisyphus's boulder rolling back down the hill. Once things calmed down, it shipped in a few large batches.
Fluxer's public history starts with one commit of nearly 1.5 million lines, dated January 1, 2026. About 800,000 of those lines are translations, and the rest is years of work from before the code was public. Starting the public history with a single commit is common practice when private code is open sourced, because a private history can contain passwords, keys and other details that shouldn't be published.
You should do more research before you throw around accusations.
The dev for Fluxer already clarified this sentiment since it seems like there's a campaign to damage the reputation of the project.
No, the user is talking bullshit.
The dev has already validated the origin of Fluxer:

Its scumbag activity to not do the bare minimum work of validating your accusation.
"Stay in your lane". Take your own advice and do your diligence before you throw around accusations against a persons reputation.
Umm, you know, you guys could just read the guys blog if you want to know what he's working on instead of theorizing nonsense.

One of the scariest things about this new AI world we live in, is the innumerable amount of psycho's that dismiss legitimate, earnest, hard work. If you people are going to throw these accusations around, then do the leg work and make sure you're not tearing down something that was done in earnest. Its the least you can do.
Yes, there's beren a lot of "additions". The guy added iOS/Android support, self-hosting options, end-to-end encryption for calls and refactored the video/screen sharing component to address stability issues that have been ongoing.
This is wild. Talk about an open source community eating its own.
And /u/northertech@fedia.io you're kind of a scumbag for dropping that picture with zero context and further influencing people away from an Open Source project that is trying to rid us of the literal pedophiles at Discord. Nice.
Shout out to Fluxer.
Still don't think its quite ready but its chugging along and its been fun following the progress. I know they have some big updates inbound. Hopefully people actually give it a shot and flip over to Fluxer.
I'd also add that the "Proton" subscrition equivalent - "Plutonium", is a better value proposition. But I will admit, they still need to clear a few hurdles before even I feel completely comfortable ditching Discord.
But its Open Source and it has a self-hosting option, along with the Quality of Life you expect from Discord in terms of the app layout, screen sharing, etc.
