Except their hydro isn't working so they're mining, importing, and using record levels of coal....

China has a clear carbon neutral plan that currently being implemented, and has been ahead of schedule in every regard. Meanwhile, coals usage in China is perfectly in line with this plan. Highly recommend actually watching the video in submission which goes in lots of further detail and context.

Do you guys even read your own links? From your article:

In the first half of the year, wind and solar farms produced more electricity (560 billion kWh) combined than the country's hydroelectric dams (450 billion kWh) for the first time.

**China's energy transition is real and is proceeding rapidly. **

But coal-fired generation and production is still likely to increase for at least the next several years because of the country's inherited reliance on coal-fired units and the need to meet rapid load growth.

And nowhere in there does it say that they are mining/importing/using record levels of coal. It's saying they haven't shut down coal power as much as they would like because of a protracted drought. I am assuming you are not an idiot and understand that droughts are not controlled by the government.

Your article goes out of its way to point out that the high coal usage is NOT a result of Chinese state policy (unlike Europeans, such as Germany recently, and the US, which use fossil fuels over renewable resources as a matter of policy).

This post appears to be from an anti-US, pro-China propaganda account.

This is actually an instructive example of a liberal propagandist at work. The comment does not engage with the actual content in the submission or provide any critique of it. Instead, it simply urges people to not engage with the content based on a personal smear. These kinds of comments are intended to shut down discussion and prevent people from having a broader perspective.

Most Americans have seen enough of the far right's "No, YOU'RE the propaganda shill!" style that this is a pretty sad and transparent deflection.

For the original charge, many people have tried to engage with you in good faith. You answered with bigotry and even more weakly sourced misinformation. When finally cornered, you dismiss the entire conversation with a smug remark. You are clearly a propaganda troll with a biased agenda and per the rules, you should be banned.

There's nothing being deflected here. I'm just pointing out that you're not engaging with the content and doing cheap smears. Meanwhile, feel free to provide an example of me answering with bigotry when people actually engage in good faith. I just dismiss trolls like you who because I know exactly what you are as does everyone reading your comments. If you don't like the vibes here feel free to go back to reddit though.

This is called sealioning so you're really just helping my case here. Err, thanks, I guess?

Sealioning is a type of trolling or harassment that consists of pursuing people with relentless requests for evidence, often tangential or previously addressed, while maintaining a pretense of civility and sincerity, and feigning ignorance of the subject matter.

But from memory, you typically display the following rule breaking behavior:

  • "Ignorant American", "Hypocritical American", and so forth
  • "Whatever helps you cope!" "Good luck with that!" (end of conversation)
  • Posting almost exclusively stories that portray the US in a negative light
[–] [email protected] -2 points 1 year ago

Sealioning is literally what you're doing here kid by sliding into my post to make personal attacks. I love how you think that posting negative stories about your shithole country should be against the rules. Your country is hated by majority of the world, maybe think about why that is.

And you appear to be an idiot. Downvote, block and move on.
