Available in itch.io. Works well to stream locally stored video files. Deovr wasn't working for me.

I'm aware that they're working to allow for streaming web VR content, but this is fine for me in the meantime.

I only wish I had more storage for VR content.

Hope this helps someone because I couldn't get any VR video working consistently before I came across this.

    I highly recommend FramePlayerX https://github.com/remotesojourner/frameplayerx

Open source and works with JellyFin/Emby, SMB, Local Files, pretty much everything. It's the only video playing solution I need on the Frame and it works fabulously.

There's also https://embedding-shapes.itch.io/matineevr I don't know how they compare as I haven't tested both, but MatineeVR did worked with some test files I threw at it.

The video performance and quality etc is good, but it's barebones in terms of file access. Local only (although network shares mounted externally works), and the file selection is a bit annoying.

Early days, so hopefully it will improve.

I wish we could have one that has a release on steam, to ease the install process and allow better integration!

But it's always cool to see some more Apps for Linux and the Frame ! 😁

Edit : seems like this one will be coming to steam : https://store.steampowered.com/app/5346510/Gantry_VR/

This one is closed source, for the record. Although most of the other native players seem to be heavily vibe-coded, so this may be the lesser evil for now.

EDIT: I'll add that most of the existing video players don't work fully because both Proton (Windows compatibility layer) and Lepton (Android compatibility layer) lack full support for video hardware acceleration. So high resolution and high refresh rate content is out of the question. These new native players resolve this, but are mostly new so lack the polish of the Quest and Windows players (to a lesser extent).

In Dolphin, right-click the file (analog stick click)
