Free gift of P1 to Verstappen. Leclerc seemed too aggressive there with his teammate.

Apparently race control is having a very hard time figuring out if Leclerc has to give the position back/get a penalty.

To me it looks like Ham pushed him wide going out of the track himself, but maybe Lec wouldn’t have managed to keep it on track anyways? I don’t get Hamilton’s defense, he also complained that Lec pushed him?! Strange

Oh shit, Bottas still isn’t out of the car. Actually hurt?

Edit: seems okay. Papier-mache Cadillac not so much

Antonelli held off pitting for so long only for the safety car to come out the next lap.

Is it just me, or have the majority of races this season been a parade? Lap 1 was exciting, but not much going on since

    Edit: the jinx worked?

Huh they gave Hamilton P3 back.

Wow that suspension crapped out. Similar to Perez in Canada.

Red flag wow. Unfortunate for Hamilton as he pitted. Now loses P3 to Antonelli. Mixed fortunes.

Big Charles fan. How did he not get 10s?

How is Charles still in the lead ?

You can always count on McLaren pulling the slowest pit stops out of their ass whenever Norris is doing well, barely dodged being overtaken by Russell

Good job from TV direction right now, showing two midfield battles at the same time

Soft tire degradation lower than expected, because of course it is, thanks Pirelli, have you guys been watching the rest of the season?

Good strategy from RB. Basically a free overtake
    (Tyre deg depending)

Penalties don’t work this way (or better said: shouldn’t)

I suppose the downvotes are due to how the FIA randomly ignores infringements when “nothing happens” (aka Verstappen divebombing with others making way, thus not providing collisions), giving people a skewed perception of how they work, but the 10s penalty is:

    • the standard penalty, when no mitigating factors arise
    • due to the collision, not the impact of the collision on Hadjars race

If Hadjar didn’t spin and Russel had a puncture, it would still apply.
