Software developers really need to start organising. I hope this kicks something off.

This is the correct way to resist capitalist use of LLMs. Corps don't care about your incessant whinging, if people want to see something different then they have to roll up their sleeves and build alternatives outside corporate control.

All those things already have well supported open source implementations though? Is the idea to make 1-1 drop-in replacements for people who really want that exact shape?

No hate, just dont get why would I use their auth0 clone instead of say KeyCloak.

Yeah, I think the idea so make a 1:1 drop-in replacement which honestly would be really nice. A lot of people are vendor locked into stuff like AWS, and it will be great if these kinds of efforts start providing a migration path off of these services.

The idea, yes. But why is this website written by AI? I don't mean the code, write all the code with AI, sure, but why is all the text AI? Someone wants to start a movement and they can't even write a basic one page about it?

How dedicated are they really if they can't say anything about it in their own words?

Replace your text editor with AI, why not, but don't replace your own thinking. That's when it becomes mindless slop instead of a tool to bring your own ideas to life faster.

ugh, can our industry take software development seriously for once. ffs. These tools are only aesthetics, they are not substance. Replacing a bad thing with a worse thing is a really bad idea.

Good. Let's hope it picks up momentum.
