Unlocking embedded devices is one use case I can get behind for LLM use. I'm unlikely to want to rely on purely vibed software but if it opens the door to more considered software afterwards then what the hell.

I am in no way an AI fan. For example the environmental inpact could be as big as planes or cars. Sure, using planes is nice and convenient, but is this worth destroying our planet? Sinilarly, the disruption and undercutting of human creative work.

But I have seen it myself, you can feed these things some Windows software and a device for a bit of testing, and it spits out the reverse engineered device protocol, and a prototype Python 'driver'.

it's only fair. they stole our artists work so we steal their shitty ip.

They won’t let this go on for long. If people can just vibe code out even half assed versions of premium software that is good enough. Then why buy the premium software. Hell you can run an LLM locally, why do you even pay for it?

That's why open models you can run locally are so important. Rental LLMs will absolutely get locked down sooner or later. In fact, that's already happening with American ones where they'll refuse to do certain tasks.

I think they will because AI companies carry far more weight than all other software companies combined. And money talks in trump's America. The cat is out of the bag anyway. Adobe deserves to have all its IP stolen anyway.
