The early voting for the Midterms is now available in many places. You can early vote at a polling place: https://www.eac.gov/voters/register-and-vote-in-your-state

Or you can use mail-in voting: https://www.eac.gov/voters/national-mail-voter-registration-form

It's highly recommended to avoid election day voting in person, and vote early.

My voting plan is that I already took my absentee ballot to city hall for early drop-off. So from here on out my job is to encourage voters to turn out

Incidentally, if you are in wisconsin, you can still register to vote right up through election day, as long as you are a citizen, and are not currently serving time or on paper for a felony. Go to www.myvote.wi.gov to register, find your polling location, find what’s on your ballot, etc. you can also request absentee ballots for no reason, however its too late in the year for those requests to be honored.

I log in on new years day to register for absentees every year, and text everyone I know wishing them well and asking them to do the same, since we all vote that way now. Its my tradition. My birthday is right around the spring election, which has notoriously bad turnout and super high-stakes positions like supreme court, so I have them send me a photo of their voted sticker or at least send a text telling me they did it. Civic participarion is a gift that keeps on giving if we do it right!

Dropped my ballot off yesterday afternoon at the official ballot box at my local library.

Post office is federal government under administrative branch. Consider not mailing completed ballot and use ballot drop off instead.

Americans will call themselves patriots and then water the tree of liberty with votes.

Not all states have early IN PERSON voting unfortunately.. only select ones

False. Almost all states have early voting. Here’s Florida as an example.

Don’t spread voter disinformation please. The links to register are literally in the linked crosspost.

    Before you fucking downvote

Perhaps I should have been more specific with not all states have early IN PERSON voting.

I don't trust the USPS with my ballot

No need to start swearing. You posted a falsehood, got called on it, and now posted your own correction. Happens. Breathe.

You’re entitled to your opinion about USPS, but millions of Americans do trust it, and it is a valid avenue to vote for those who can’t vote in person.

Look it’s a 16 day old account on a non-US instance fear mongering people to not vote. How interesting

You are handsomely making the point people need to vote early and organise themselves.

You can't really debate people that are brainwashed, unfortunately. Use your energy somewhere that it will matter. Let people that spew shit eat shit, as they typically do.

Also, I encourage everyone on lemmy that run into pieces of brainwashed shit to block them. That way you cut down on the noise.

Don’t vote, collapse, the rest of the world benefits. Seriously. Enough with the USA. Fine by me. If you’re in debate mode answer me this: if the United States falls, why would the rest of the world care?

If you’re in Straya, which your instance suggests, you should care a very great deal.

Go type in Pine Gap somewhere.

Wait are you bringing Pine Gap as a point in favour to the US? "If the US falls so will global surveillance" should be something to be worried about? Lmao

It was a poor point on the assumption our friend was aussie.

Pine Gap illustrates the deep dependency of Australia on American military protection. If the US is further destabilised, then several former allies like Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Japan and others will have to find security partners with others, which incidentally is exactly what those type of accounts are rooting for.

"those types of accounts" meaning non-americans? I too welcome the fall of the US military hegemony. All those overseas bases serve the US way more than the hosting country, even though it's always painted as the gracious protecting wing of uncle sam

Just aiming for the downfall of a nation of 330m people who have the most powerful military in the world while they are competely submissive to the most dangerous Zionist cult through blackmail isn’t going to be the fireworks you’re hoping it will be.

I am not under the illusion that it's going to be fun. But the recent past and present aren't either, and those 330m people have been dragging the remaining 8b in their folly

Yes, so let’s encourage them to vote and make a stand. In no recent election have we gotten close to a landslide win for anyone. Most elections are 51-49 affairs. Imagine what a blowout result could do to invigorate Americans to take their country back. Military industrial complex and all.

Because it's a set up and a distraction. Every election is 'the most important election' or 'the last chance to defend democracy'. Meanwhile Democrats get further and further right, even moderately left wing candidates are dragged, destroyed and disgraced, and it's a bigger fucking circus every time. Your 2 party system is beyond broken, it's working exactly as calculated and intended by the corporate interests that have completely captured and infiltrated it. You go ahead and vote but don't fool yourself into thinking anything is going to change for the better no matter what happens.

Ok, well, let’s assume you’re here with us on earth –and let’s hope you’re not the obvious kiwi laughing at the demise of the world from a small couple of islands in the Pacific, that are actually giant dormant super volcanoes.

If you can see the US led destabilisation in just the last 18 months, which may be difficult, because there is so much news. And if you understand exponential curves, which is even harder, then you tell me how leaving trump in office is fun, entertaining, or healthy for the future of the human race?

Trump is actually far less of a problem for people outside of the USA as long as the USA is not currently bombing you or raping your children.

The solution will happen, and whatever it is will end in death. It’s up to people in the USA to decide if it will be the rulers, as usual, or the people.

I know where my money is placed.

But hey, you guys will be fine and I’ll be eating my hat next month. Nothing will happen in January, and it will be anxiety inducing business as usual.
