Would it just be pitch black? Or have streaks and stars like you rubbed your eyes for too long?

Ghostly misty white? Like in a fog?

Would it be a flat colour or shade or something that moves?

Perhaps some sort of specific background like a Tv static? Or a room/building you like similar to what some vr spaces do but recreated with splotches of colours maybe?

Or something more exotic like a constantly changing rainbow?

Would like to hear what you’d choose and why that specifically

The assumption would also be that you can’t really change it later, the choice and all the variables would be locked in, barring some minor variation perhaps ( brighter/darker or more/less vibrant for example)

For me I think I’d prefer a lighter colour, maybe something akin to a fog with some varieties in the consistency of it so it doesn’t feel like a solid wall of grey-white.

My understanding is that blind people don't see black or any other colour, they just...don't see. I've seen it described as "what colour do you see behind you when you look straight ahead?"

That said, probably just black I guess, if I had to choose.

    Natively blind people, yeah.

People who had vision previously supposedly do experience some residual perception when they lose sight, at least from what I heard

I guess it also varies on the nature of the blindness and what caused it

  • Probably a warm colour like the shade of red you see wghen closing your eyes while facing a lightsource

Doesn't matter as I would be blind and couldn't see it.

Black of course. Otherwise, how could I ever sleep at night?

But if it could go black in the night and another color in daytime, I would have green like lush, fresh meadows.

Translucent neon clear with a hint of purpular pastel.

    A dark grey.

Problem with going blind is that you can’t close your eyes and see darkness anymore. Dark grey is super boring, but it would allow me to sleep reasonably well.
