Ancient Greece would have likely looked like this. This is a cool reconstruction of Curetes Street in ancient Ephesus.

Good lord people leave OP alone. He’s at least posting decent appropriate content on a subgroup that needs it.

Many of us on Lemmy DON’T browse Reddit anymore and don’t mind seeing these “reposts”.

  • It is nice to see the place in a bit more colour, but is that really realistic? I'm genuinely asking. I just imagine maintenance of a street like this would be quite expensive. I also imagine it would likely be a little less clean, unless it was kept up rather meticulously. What kind of social context would this street have been host to?

Yeahhhh there's a reason people never paint the stone of ancient Greece and Rome in modern depictions

I've been to Ephesus. It's so much more amazing in person than pictures can do it justice.

Lemmy’s basic premise is the same as Reddit’s - a link aggregator. I don’t go to Reddit anymore, so it’s new to me. I like external content that’s selectively taken from there. Now, those bots that just flood subs with Reddit threads can fuck right off.

You realize 99 percent are lurkers and comments. I give people something to do to draw people away from reddit
