Reason for being what?
post
Bold of you to assume I need a reason.
To you presume to be rational?
Somewhat.
How do you rationalize your motivation to continue on?
By reason for being do you mean "what someone tells themselves to justify that they're still alive?" In which case I agree with diplomjodler that one doesn't need a reason. But I suppose it would be the assumption that I'm a good person. I've been wrestling with that a lot recently.
If you mean the process that lead to me being created, I'd say soapy teddies is the flaw in that.
What the swag am I being asked?
Nothing, unless you are the one conclusive voice of lemmy.
I'm even more confused now.
The question presupposes the thing you ask me to inspect and I reject the premise. There is no reason to any of this. It just is.
How do you remain rational?
I don't see how irrationality would follow from the belief that there is no ultimate meaning to any of this. What matters is this moment right now. The rest of it is just a story I'm telling myself.
I dont see an overall "reason for being", just an un-requested life filled with societally enforced rules and goals mixed in with basic survival. It sucks and it's fucking beautiful, then it's over and there was real reason for it but it never mattered anyway (not in a depressed way).
I guess the flaw in that reasoning is that I can never fully enjoy the beautiful moments in life without feeling a small hint of sadness (not in a depressed way, i swear lol)
That I am always right no matter what others say. After all everything before last Thursday didn't happen.
What would the fun be if there was a reason for being?
That's just a job without pay then
I actually wasn't.
