If I was told that I'd come back to earth to be reincarnated as another human being with choices. I would like the following;

To be a woman. To be non-binary, still. To still remain a 'gray world resident'. To retain my ability to not cave to FOMO and be resourceful. There's a hundred of other things but in terms of core ones, those are the few.

What is a grey world resident?

I would of course choose to keep all my memories/cognition starting as a baby. Anime isekai has demonstrated that is more than enough to get a HUGE head start in life.

Maybe keep my old body? Its definitely not perfect: flat footed, need glasses, skin cancer likely, dementia is a maybe, etc. But at the same time, a lot of other people have it worse so I would be re rolling the die on that one, which could end up MUCH worse for me.

I would want to keep the lessons I've learned, my morality, and my stock of crystalline knowledge and skills, but I guess it would be a good thing if I could forget the majority of my life, so that things like rereading books that I've read in the past, or watching TV shows that I've seen before, would be a thing that I could enjoy.

It would also be cool if I could be born again in a scenario that would allow me to re-meet the better people I've met in this life and grow up around them and have more time with them.

I would like to just retain my memories and my ego.

My brain of course. It's a good one.

In your new life, when you're around 6 or 7 years old, one day you begin to wonder about that shrivelled, walnut-like thing your parents have in a jar.

Eventually you find out it's a human brain. They got it years ago when they met in med school - they met when they worked on the same cadaver in a lab. You have no way of knowing it, but that brain was yours in a past life. Eventually you go to medical school yourself, and you take the jar with you.

My genes. I want the exact same body as I have now. My race and ethnicity and skin color and size and hair and literally everything I am comes from what I look like and how I was treated because of that.

    I would politely decline.

Unless I'm being born into a world where I don't have to feasibly spend half my life working (at best), I'm not interested. I would time travel back and prevent my own birth if I could, and my life kicks ass.

My empathy, and ability to make friends wherever I go.

But I'd rather not be reincarnated at all if I can help it. Once was enough.

Uff, such a hard question! I would love to re-find the people I love in this life, but if that isn’t given I wonder if remembering them would do good. I am already really miss all the ones that are not here anymore, missing everyone would be such a hard burden to carry.

If it is known that I will be reincarnated in the future, my history and science knowledge would definitely come in handy. If reincarnated in the past, probably less so.

About core elements… I like not feeling peer pressure and being able to make up my own mind. I am fairly analytical. I would like to keep that. I also stick to my friends with almost-infinite loyalty. I would keep that, because without I would not feel like me anymore.

I'd wanna be born in france. I would've been a happier person there.

Hundreds of things just like you, but mainly all the wisdom, especially that which came with pain and hatred, so that I don't make the same interpersonal mistakes again. Too bad there isn't a "what to discard" choice, because getting rid of being assigned male at birth would be huge.
