    I think it would've been made more obvious if the skeleton had not just the glasses but the moustache too.

    Those are called teeth. And they don't look like the moustache of the guy.

    Sure, having a moustache on a skeleton is weird. But, it's a comic. A reductionist art form where emphasis is put on the specific characteristics of a person - in this case, glasses and moustache. To represent that character in a recognisable form, you ought to utilise the characteristics you've assigned to them. Even if it's weird.
