I struggle to pull an all-dayer

I didn't sleep last night but it wasn't my choice. I just didn't get tired until about a half hour before I had to be up. Needless to say, today fucking sucked.

Yeah, all-nighters are easy. It's more the ~24 hrs+ cliff that comes out of nowhere that's rough. Then there's the battle to power on for another 14-15 hrs through the waves of highs and lows, because I'd rather that than sleep during the day and blow up the sleeping pattern.

Pulling all-nighters for gaming shows very little experience with pulling all-nighters.

Whenever I see something like this, I always think what the fuck. What kind of terrible shape are you in to have this low of an energy level already as a young man? Like you're not even halfway through your life expectancy and you're already this run down? I took a 61-year-old and a 72-year-old The Burning Man and the 61-year-old was routinely pulling all-nighters. Some of y'all really need to have a hard look at your health and maybe go talk to a doctor and get fully checked out to make sure there's not something causing this level of fatigue, especially if you're a desk job guy.

Ive recently discovered Lyme and bartonella are insanely common and cause a LOT of hard to track down effects (tiresome, anger, brain fog, joint swelling, bad sleep, heart arrhythmia, salt craving, reaction to certain foods, hearing loss, crawling skin; are a tiny amount of symptoms).. I'd be willing to bet a large portion of the population has untreated Lyme or similar.

Ticks are exploding in population due to climate change as well. Get tested everyone. ! You can also get it from a cat scratch if a cat has been bit by a flea/bug with Lyme so every lemming better get tested, ha

30 was basically a brick wall. In my 20s I pulled an all nighter at least twice a month no problem. Now I become a complete zombie by 10am

    Wait until your 40s.

I don't usually even stay up for New Year's anymore.

If I'm really locked in on something I can get to like 2am. It's rare that anything does that for me anymore though. Too many other worries distracting me.

Haven't done an all-nighter since college, but a Factorio binge is just about the only thing that can keep me up past 2am.

My problem is opposite. I am trying my best not to pull all-nighter every night xD

Tho I get my energy boost around 7 pm so yeah.

My strategy is never drinking coffeine (decaf coffee all day) and then, when I go to lans, I drink a White Monster per day. Keeps me awake till 5-6 am.

The four-day work week helps a lot, I can still do it and I'm 37.

I don't think I pulled my first all-nighter until my mid-twenties. I still do it maybe twice a year, but honestly my sleep schedule these days is bad enough that it's probably carcinogenic.

Not quite an all nighter, but three hours sleep last night.

WHY DO I ALWAYS START NEW GAMES SO LATE!?

I was pulling all-nighters well into my 40's, but I had insomnia. It wasn't something I wanted to do. However, I did take advantage of it for work.

I found the solution to my insomnia and never looked back. Now I fall asleep almost like a normal person.

    http://www.sleepwithmepodcast.com/

YMMV, but it worked for me from day one. I read about it on a post on the content aggregator site which shall not be named.

I opened the link right there at work, started playing it, and thought , "t This guy is so boring I feel myself falling asleep already!"

The first night I listened, I was asleep before the intro was done, but then when the episode ended, I woke up. The next night I loaded all the episodes, but then when my alarm went off the next morning, I kept snoozing the alarm and falling asleep again. Finally, I started it with a sleep timer to stop it playing a few minutes before my alarm would go off.

I think that was about 10 years ago.

Occasionally, when life is really, really bad, I still have nights where I have trouble getting to sleep, but that's a once or twice a year thing now. I used to get less than 4 hours of sleep every night, with about 1 night per week where I would get no sleep at all.

    It isn't for everyone.

Why is everyone acting like pulling all nighters is a good thing? I don't know if this is health issues, this is just having things to do daily.

    aspirational goal

people wish they could do it and idealize it as super awesome.

sort of like marathons. but they don't know or acknowledge the consequences of doing such things, which make them far less appearling. like shitting yourself in mile 14 and having to run another 2 hours in your own shit and then the next 4 days where you can barely move because you're in fatigue.

that or I guess going on a drug/alcohol bender? people love to idealize that too.
