Sadly, nuclear weapons are one of the few ways to guarantee a country's independence and safety in the age of global imperialism.

Iran tried negotiating, and look what it got them. Had they developed the weapons successfully, there'd be no war, and all the people dead would still be alive.

North Korea was in a considerably worse position before acquiring nuclear weapons, too. Now look at it. Doing whatever it feels like.

Similar situations with Pakistan and India.

That's just how it is when the world is run by genocidal sociopaths with a deep passion for children.

Has anyone mentioned that the SCMP is a propaganda outlet under the Chinese party-state's disinformation regime?

Hell, looks at Iran. North Korea got nukes and now their leader is parading his daughter on a tank and preparing her to succeed him. Iran tried to negotiate and their now-leader's father, wife and children are all dead. Given the crippling sanctions already on Iran, one approach is clearly more successful than the other.

They have the nukes and missile tech to launch them, but lack early warning systems against imminent attacks.

They have Russian and Chinese protections now, but if they go rogue and try to launch first I have a feeling the entire country is gonna get pre-emptive blasted to bits before the missiles leave the pad.

I'm sure Russians have submarine nukes aimed right at NK too for such scenarios
