I like the deadpan delivery. Not every band needs to have an actual singer, after all, and I sure prefer that there are more different styles.

Deborah Evans-Stickland of The Flying Lizards similarly couldn't sing, and likewise did more of a spoken style: e.g' on ‘TV’ and their cover of ‘Money’. Pet Shop Boys do deadpan vocals at times, but particularly in ‘Paninaro’. And The Fall are pretty well-known in the post-punk circles.

However, even though I don't listen to the lyrics in most music, I'm mildly irked that Dry Cleaning's lyrics are just a bunch of quippy lines put together — that's literally how vocalist Florence Shaw writes, sometimes taking lines from texts that she sees somewhere (when she's not improvising altogether).
