Happy birthday to you and everything but i dont comprehend how anyone could feel nostalgic enough to play oblivion again. Everything else you played is a gem and everybody loves you. :*

    Which is your favourite?

Edit: And why is it Morrowind?

I love that for Morrowind even the guide is called The Morrowind Prophecies. Everything about Morrowind was made with care and an attempt to make the world feel real. The later games can be fun, but none of them do this to the same degree.

Also, in my experience, Linux is much better at handling legacy titles than Windows is at this point. It's weird, but one more advantage for Linux!

Yeah I was expecting to have to fiddle with Morrowind, but it worked out the box, and even cloud saves worked.

Are you just playing Morrowind as it was, or are you using OpenMW?

Just as it was. I was trying to play it in an xp vm but virtual box dropped 3d acceleration support for xp a while ago. So I’m stuck with games like the sims, sim city 3000 on my. 2002 larp machine

but my endeavorOS is xp themed too

I’m kinda into doing things the old way. The old internet, mp3 player, etc

Yeah I love what I call my 2002 LARP VM. lol what has been amazing, is the ability to find old installers of old versions of programs and the original isos of games on Internet archive and other places. It’s such a resource.

Oh yeah, all the software on the xp vm is period correct releases. No versions past 2002. Including Winamp. Just the browser is a current and safe alternative web browser

I have been playing OpenMW with Tamriel Rebuilt for the past couple of months and I don't think I will be able to finish it in my lifetime. It's wonderful.

Love this. I'm gonna have to buy morrowind and oblivion so I can play them I never knew about morrowind when it came out bc I didn't play pc games yet and I bought a physical pc version of oblivion but my pc wasn't good enough for more than about 20fps so I only played about an hour of choppy gameplay. Happy Birthday, btw.

Thanks. I love the mouse. The headphones look cool and feel comfortable. But they do sound horrible because they are mono educational headphones from the late 90s. I have to run a program that turns my stereo sound into mono

I try to play those games but then end up spending a few days just sorting mods and trying to get them all to work together, it's stressful but also satisfying when it actually works then i play for 200 hours and reach a specific point and the game keeps crashing...

+1 for physical strategy guides! I've started collecting them, since most of them are pretty cheap these days (some are like $80+ though). It's nice to be able to unhook oneself from the Internet and be able to enjoy games completely offline again, and these guides help complete that notion.

Love the retro casettes-esque aesthetic on that mouse and headphone
