Ed Sheeran really needs the money, guys. Don't pounce on a poor kid like Ed Sheeran. I'm sure that if he had a social safety net, he would also be willing to protest against active genocide like the upperclass wealthman, Macklemore.

Joking aside, is anyone surprised by music venue owners being the shittiest people in existence?

I'll give him an inch, because he does come from a place where they'll jail you for defending Palestine, but also, he's got money, he has nothing to fear. Ultimately, this is pure cowardice.

oh that, that’s for supporting one specific banned group. all other Palestine support is not restricted. be careful, there’s a lot of anti uk disinformation going around

Macklemore said on Instagram that several U.S. venues told the promoter they would prohibit him from performing as Sheeran’s opening act for the Loop tour

What did Sheeran have to do with it?

It's sheeran's tour that is continuing with neither pause nor Macklemore, his friend. I blame Kraft 90% and Sheeran 10%.

50/50 imho. No shit he was going to get pushback in this toxic political climate. But instead of standing up for his friend and what’s right, dude just capitulated while using their own propagandized language against Macklemore.

    Catch-22.

    1. Cancel the concert and be called politically correct because it happened after a tourmate said Palestine
    2. Go on anyway despite tourmate unable to perform at some venues, and be called a shill for Israel

Bro has enough money and fame that he’s set for life even if his contract said that he had to hand over all his money if he cancelled the rest of the tour. Even if he was set back so far that he could only play local pubs and small venues, and give lessons, he’d be golden.

Zero reason to keep going on the tour. He could stand with Macklemore and throw his weight around or just give in like a little baby.

One of those isn't a bad thing.

Even if he had demographic data that said a majority of his audience is Zionists (or ignorant sympathizers), being on "the clearly correct side now and on the right side of history for the future" versus "being complicit to genocide" isn't much of a "Catch-22".

learning about how being politically nuteral is impossible in an extremist environment. sitting on the fence just means you support the outcome of 'might make right' extremists.
